Brambles

Brambles
Catch my clothes
My hair
My thoughts
I stick in the fields
My shoes
In the mud
Brambles
Ensnare me
I am encircled
By thorns
They poke me
With every move
I make
To escape
Brambles
Surround me
Unaware we
Were passing by
Before I
Got entangled
Entrenched
And yet
I feel I can fly
When stranded in brambles, you’ve no choice but
To gaze at the open sky
As brambles
Embrace me
I feel less shaky
A stick in the fields
A renegade daisy
And here in the mud
I accept the respite
Until my rescue party
Finally arrives
In the
Brambles
