In my time writing so far, I\u2019ve gathered a variety of good writing advice, and here is what I\u2019ve concluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Always outline<\/li>
  2. Never outline<\/li>
  3. Treat your first draft as an outline<\/li>
  4. Edit as you go<\/li>
  5. Don\u2019t bother editing<\/li>
  6. Most of writing is actually editing<\/li>
  7. Lose yourself to the flow<\/li>
  8. Don\u2019t let your muse take over your life<\/li>
  9. Always be thinking about writing<\/li>
  10. Remove distractions when writing<\/li>
  11. Write among people<\/li>
  12. Write in the morning<\/li>
  13. Write at night<\/li>
  14. Write whenever inspiration strikes you<\/li>
  15. Have a set schedule<\/li>
  16. Take breaks<\/li>
  17. Write every day<\/li>
  18. Wait for the right time<\/li>
  19. There is no right time<\/li>
  20. Write something else if it isn\u2019t working<\/li>
  21. Never abandon your WIP<\/li>
  22. Write for yourself<\/li>
  23. Write what people want to read<\/li>
  24. Write what you enjoy<\/li>
  25. Murder your darlings<\/li>
  26. Don\u2019t murder your darlings<\/li>
  27. Do whatever works for you<\/li>
  28. Learn from the experts<\/li>
  29. Avoid clich\u00e9s<\/li>
  30. Meet readers\u2019 expectations<\/li>
  31. Imagine unlikely scenarios<\/li>
  32. Write what you know<\/li>
  33. Write outside your experience<\/li>
  34. Only write your own experience<\/li>
  35. Fiction is lies<\/li>
  36. Fiction is truth<\/li>

  38. Fiction is reconnecting with your soul<\/li>
